I need to do that right away! Just 3 days ago, I had a cup of coffee near the keyboard. I only walked away for a second, to answer the phone. While I was away, my cat decided he wanted some coffee too, but all over my desk. I lost the use of my spacebar. I had 3 other keyboards in the closet. One has no #1 key, one has no left side anything, and this one, so far so good. Press and seal, here I come!
Hey Dixie, I bought a backup keyboards once online and it was less than $3! The problem is that within 24 hours of using it, it had food in it. (some family members came over and used the computer. I won't say who to protect the guilty!)
BOY, I love the press-n-seal for the keyboard idea!! I have 4 kids and crumbs and spills follow them everywhere! This would have saved me a few keyboards.
I wonder what the weird smell is? That definitely turns me off the idea of the bags for veggies. Hmm. Is it just a smell or does it make anything taste funny, too?
LOL at the Criss Angel comment, DonnaA! That's too funny. GREAT idea on using the press n seals on the keyboards! I don't think anyone in my house can stop themselves from nibbling while typing. *guilty*
Virginia, have you ever tried the Press-n-Seal paper? That work's a treat, too! It is a bit expensive, and not reusable, though.
I also use it as a keyboard cover. Inexpensive compared to manufactured/fitted covers, disposible, easy to replace, fitted, you get the idea! I'm frugal (sounds so much nicer than cheap, lol) It keeps the keyboard crumb and drip free. And also - my youngest had a habit of popping the keys off my keyboard - it was like he passed his hand over and poof there they went - he was the Criss Angel of disappearing keys! I spent a whole day once looking for my "E" - it was out on the deck! It keeps things where they belong, too!

I tried these as an experiment mainly because we eat a TON of salad in my family; it's always on hand. I needed to find an easier way to store the salad mixes I buy because once you open the bag the air gets to it, you get the idea. The bags work ok but there is a weird smell to them that seems to transfer onto the lettuce. They are also too expensive to "maintain", at least for me. If anyone has any salad storing ideas, let me know!
Great suggestion, EmilyGrace! I will definitely have to look for them on eBay, especially since we eat a modified SB/Atkins diet in this house where it is very heavy veggie-oriented and I prefer fresh whenever possible.
Like mkupjunkie, I don't at all care for them for bananas, They make them go all soft & weird. But as far as any other fruits and veggies, yes they save you tons of money on wasted produce. Even if you want to use part of a veggie, you can just throw the cut one back in the bag & it stays good just like the rest of them. I swear by them. J
Just a hint though, you can get the, on eBay a whole lot cheaper. I think I got 60 bags gor $18 including shipping. And they are reusable, so the 60 lasts as long as 600 of another bag. For me, they are definitely worth the investment.
My mom gave me a couple of "green bags". I put bananas in it, and although they didn't go bad as quickly, I didn't like the way they smelled or tasted...my mom said the same thing and threw hers away. I don't know if there are better ones out there, but I'm really not impressed with these.
I am to cheap to buy them. We eat everything to fast around here anyway. Try going to the product website, then hit contact and a page will come up. Tell them you are interested in the product and see if they will send you a sample bag to try.
Do those special bags they have for veggies really keep them fresh? I see the commercials and I'm not willing to buy them til I know they work. I don't eat enough greens and fruits because when I buy them, I forget them and they go bad. Anyone have experience with them?
