Hi Aloe9678 I was shocked to see you are posting from Iraq.  I just want to thank you and the troops for all your efforts. Praying for your safe return in the very near future. God bless you and all of our troops. You are all heroes!!! :-xmkupjunkie

I am madly in love with the Neutrogena Hydragel Cooling lipglosses for day (high SPF and they cool your lips) and Rosebud Salve for night. If you wear lipstick you could put it on underneath and then reapply during the day - they don't have a strong enough color to change what you're wearing. Love, love, love this product. They came out during my last deployment and I restocked before this one.

You can get the RS at Sephora or on their Web site, it's like $6 and it lasts forever. It has a petroleum jelly base and then has roseoil or something in it, it smells good ;) It's good on dry feet and hands as well.

Thanks bellasmom, but it wasn't cold/fever blisters.  I think its because it is so hot here.

I haven't ever heard of Rosebud salve, can you share with us what it is? Is it actually made rose petals, I know women used to use Rose water and said the petals were great for the skin.

Hi bigKCfan,

sounds like it could be sun/fever blisters, that tingling sensation, I get sometimes as well. I sometimes use Petroleum Jelly, if that doesn't work I go to my local rite aid, they carry a product Herpecin L which also has a SPF 30 (HL30) this product help to treat those symptoms its a medicated lip balm that treats Cold Sores, Chapped Lips and Sun & Fever Blisters. Give that a try, it has never failed me when other lip balms have.

Nothing beats good old fashion Rosebud Salve. It keeps my lips softer than anything else and I am very fair and have sensitive skin. For sunblock I like Neutrogena Lip Block.

I use lip gloss like crazy. I love it. And it does have SPF in it so my lips won't get burned. It actually makes my lips feel good. It is a mineral makeup gloss so it is good for them too.

Thanks mkupjunkie. I had actually considered using neosporin, but heard it was bad to put on your lips a lot.

I use the max factor lipfinity, but still the lips get really dry.

Try using your eye cream on your lips. Some companys sell creams especially for lip/eye cream. I've read before that the skin under the eyes and the lip area are very similar, so it makes sense. I've done it myself. I have pale lips and I always have lipstick on my lips (when I don't I tend to bite them). I use the superstay lipstick by Mabelline and all you have to do is apply the attached lip gloss a couple of times throughout the day...it stays on after eating and drinking...this is a product I should have added to your post of products I love. Hope this helps.

Conditioners for Lips

Years ago my lips got sunburned really bad, so I struggle to keep them from being dry and tight. A few days ago I noticed that they start tingling whenever I walk out into the heat, doesn't have to be sunny just hot.
I have mentioned before my lips are very pale, they have no and I mean no natural pigment to help protect them.
I don't see me making my own lip balm any time soon.

I have used carmex, blistex, avon's anew and herbal lip balms. No luck. I can tell they need moisture and of course I am ageing so there is another factor.

ANY SUGGESTIONS? I don't want to go buy something that costs an arm and leg and then it not work.
